Upcoming STA Brown Bag Luncheon

Charter Discusses Gigabit Business Infrastructure for Redding is the topic for the next Shasta Technology Association brown bag luncheon on September 16, from 12:00-1:00. Our guest speaker Jason Meksch, Major Accounts Executive at Charter Communications will review a new and significant upgrade Charter has implemented for its business broadband infrastructure. Businesses in the metropolitan Redding area, Anderson and Red Bluff can now plan for bandwidth speeds from 5 Megabit to 1Gigabit and higher for both uploads and downloads.

The capability at the high end will be serviced on a case by case basis since not every business requires large bandwidth. Charter will work directly with any business to create a site evaluation, develop a proposed solution and related cost analysis. This is an excellent opportunity to hear about high-speed business broadband capacity that now puts Redding on par with other major cities.

The meeting will be at the City Hall location, 777 Cypress Ave., in the Caldwell Park Room. Pizza will be served for lunch. Information: Brad Fortier 474-4231.

Why We Have Brown Bag Luncheons:

The luncheons are held the fourth Friday of very month, except in November and December, and we are trying to accomplish two things.

1. We want to provide value to the Redding technology community in the form of educational opportunities. We are all busy and this is a chance to learn something over a lunch hour that will hopefully help you do what you do better.

2. We want all of the individuals and businesses involved in technology in this area to have a chance to network. In fact, just show up with some business cards prepared to introduce yourself briefly, and then schedule a bit of time after lunch to network with other attendees one on one.

At Noon on the third Friday of every month except in November and December, the Shasta Technology Association hosts a "Brown Bag" meeting at the Civic Center (City Hall at 777 Cypress Ave). The name of the meeting room is the "Caldwell Park Room" on the second floor http://www.ci.redding.ca.us/civcenter. The Shasta Technology Association, will provide a lunch of Pizza and refreshments to the first 20 attendees. Plan to show up early, the meetings will start at noon promptly!
