Student Job Internship Program at Simpson College
Presented by Gary Schmidt, Chair the Business Department at Simpson. This is an ongoing program available to qualified students, typically at junior or senior level. It provides for students to gain real time job experience while making a genuine contribution to the operations of a business entity. Doing work that tracks to their area of academic focus, these opportunities can be paid or unpaid positions and result in grade credit when successfully completed with approved sign off. These internships have turned out to be real win-win situations for all involved. If you would like to fine out more about the Student Job Internship Program contact Gary Schmidt at gschmidt@simpsonu.edu.
SMART Business Resource Center Internship and Worksite Training Programs
Presented by Becky Renfer, Program Adviser at the SMART Business Resource Center. This Internship Program is dedicated to helping businesses in the Redding area by aligning qualified job seekers for paid internship positions. The business center has the expertise to identify key worker skills, evaluate previous experience and assist with ramp-up training for specific job opportunities. The Smart Internship Program is designed to work directly with a business for assisting with employee recruiting and placement, while giving displaced workers a chance to retrain in a new profession outside of their normal occupation. Through this internship, a business may be able to be compensated for 100% of the wages earned by the trainee if they are eligible for the program. Please contact Becky Renfer at rbecky@thesmartcenter.biz to find out more about this program.
In addition to Gary Schmidt and Becky Renfer, we will also have other guest speakers from Shasta College as well.
